The G 580 is further enhanced by its optional electric drive, which responds smoothly and silently after each activation, making off-road driving almost too easy.
Ford Bronco 2024 – 8.7/10
Offering just about everything for outdoor adventurers, the Ford Bronco is a rugged off-road vehicle in every shape and size. Buyers can choose a two- or four-door version with a hard or soft top. Trim levels and packages are named and optioned based on adventure needs. Buyers can customize the vehicle with numerous accessories, while clever off-road options, cameras and gauges keep everyone safe. Like the Wrangler, doors, roof and other parts are removable. It’s also shorter than a pickup truck, making it easier to get on and off trails.
Jeep Wrangler 2024 – 8.6/10
In the hands of a skilled driver, the Jeep Wrangler is virtually unaffected by terrain, weather or incline. Even in standard trim, it can tackle some of the toughest trails outdoor adventurers can throw at it. Like the Bronco, it is offered with either manual or automatic transmission. And like the Bronco, the doors and roof are removable. The Wrangler 4xe is now available as a plug-in hybrid and can travel about 20 miles on electric power alone.
2024 Toyota Land Cruiser – 8.4/10
The Toyota Land Cruiser has a long history as an iconic off-road vehicle ready for outdoor adventurers. The new model has a redesigned exterior with a more rugged and modern look, as well as a spacious and luxurious interior. The Land Cruiser features permanent four-wheel drive. Drivers can choose from six different driving modes to tackle difficult terrain, as well as a crawl gear function that automatically adjusts speed and braking on steep off-road slopes. The Land Cruiser is also equipped with a 12.3-inch touchscreen, a head-up display, a wireless charger and a JBL sound system.
Toyota Tacoma 2024 – 8.3/10
The 2024 Toyota Tacoma is a versatile and reliable pickup truck that can handle almost any outdoor adventure. The new model is offered with a hybrid powertrain that combines a 3.3-liter V6 engine with an electric motor to deliver 437 horsepower and 583 pound-feet of torque. The Tacoma also has a number of features that make it ready for off-road challenges, such as a limited-slip rear differential, multi-terrain monitor, crawl control system, and TRD-tuned suspension. The Tacoma’s cabin is spacious and comfortable, and features a 10-inch touchscreen, wireless charger, panoramic sunroof, and JBL sound system.
Lexus GX 2024 – 8.2/10
The luxurious three-row Lexus GX, like its stablemate, the Land Cruiser, is equipped with all-wheel drive, locking differentials and camera views to keep outdoor adventurers safe on the trails. The new GX is larger than the previous model and the redesign improved approach angles to make off-road driving easier. The new Electronic Kinetic Dynamic Suspension System (E-KDSS) locks and unlocks the front and rear stabilizer bars to help when more wheel articulation is needed. The GX can tow 9,000 pounds.
2025 Rivian R1T – 8.1/10
The 2025 Rivian R1T is designed for outdoor adventurers heading away from civilization for a weekend or a week. The electric R1T is nippy, but can also tow up to 5,000 kg. It has a payload capacity of 790 kg, making it ideal for hauling your gear. The top-of-the-range R1T model features a four-motor system and adjustable air suspension that can increase ground clearance up to 37 cm. The R1T also features a transmission tunnel that provides additional storage space, or it can be equipped with a camping kitchen.
Ford Ranger 2024 – 8.1/10
The redesigned 2024 Ford Ranger is equipped with new driver-assist technologies and features that make driving on and off-road easier for outdoor adventurers. It offers camera technology, including Pro Trailer Backup Assist, an integrated trailer brake controller and a 360-degree camera. The Ranger is available with an integrated step and new fold-flat rear seats that make it easier to transport large items in the cab. The R1S SUV is almost as capable off-road as it is on-road, and may even be better suited to long weekends on the trail. With three rows of seating, the R1S is comfortable and customizable, and offers three power levels, each more exciting than the last. It can travel up to 420 miles on a single charge and has power outlets for appliances and tools. The R1S has adjustable suspension for rough roads and multiple drive modes for city and highway driving.
2024 Ford Bronco Sport – 7.9/10
While not the most powerful, the compact Ford Bronco Sport is incredibly capable compared to the competition. Its size allows it to squeeze into trails that larger vehicles can’t, and available all-wheel drive and drive mode technology make navigating adverse conditions a breeze. The Bronco Sport is easy to handle as a daily driver, but it doesn’t offer as much cargo space as other SUVs its size. The Bronco Sport can tow up to 2,200 pounds and is offered with the company’s CoPilot360 safety package, which includes adaptive cruise control, evasive maneuvering assist, and navigation.
2024 GMC Canyon – 7.9/10
The 2024 GMC Canyon is a midsize pickup truck that offers many benefits to outdoor adventurers. The Canyon is available with three engine options and can tow up to 7,000 pounds, a class-leading figure.
